A note on what we can’t help with

We are an editorial publication, not a customer-service desk. We cannot:

  • recover lost game accounts, refund purchases, or unlock bans on third-party platforms;
  • intervene with publishers or developers on individual support tickets;
  • provide official patch notes, release dates, or roadmap confirmations.

For those, please contact the game’s publisher or platform holder directly.

DMCA and Copyright Policy

Last updated: 17 May 2026

Gamerative (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users and contributors to do the same. This policy explains how rights holders can report alleged infringement on https://gamerative.com (the “Site”), how we handle those reports, and how someone whose content has been removed can respond.

We follow the notice-and-takedown procedure of the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (the “DMCA”) as a global best practice, alongside applicable copyright law in the Republic of Türkiye, in particular Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works (Fikir ve Sanat Eserleri Kanunu).

1. Our use of third-party material

Gamerative is an editorial publication. Articles on the Site routinely refer to:

  • game titles, character names, studio names, and franchise terminology;
  • short screenshots, box art, key art, trailers, and gameplay footage;
  • brief textual quotations from games, marketing material, and public statements.

This material is the property of the respective rights holders. We use it for the purpose of news reporting, criticism, comment, review, and education, in line with the exceptions provided under Turkish Law No. 5846, the doctrines of fair use (United States), fair dealing (United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and similar jurisdictions), and equivalent exceptions under the copyright laws of the European Union.

We attribute material to its source where reasonable and link back to the original where possible.

If you are a rights holder and you would prefer us not to use a specific piece of your material, please contact [email protected] and we will review the request in good faith.

2. Filing a notice of alleged infringement

If you believe that material posted on the Site infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to [email protected] containing all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If there are multiple works, a representative list is fine.
  2. Identification of the material on the Site that you claim is infringing. Provide the specific URL or URLs so we can locate it. General references to the Site as a whole are not sufficient.
  3. Your contact information, including your full legal name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Please use the subject line: COPYRIGHT — DMCA Notice — [URL or article title].

Notices that are incomplete or that misrepresent the facts may be ignored or rejected.

3. Misrepresentation

Section 512(f) of the DMCA provides that anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages. Comparable liability may arise under Turkish law for false or abusive notices. Please consider this before sending a notice. If you are not sure whether the material is infringing, please consult a lawyer first or contact us informally before filing a notice.

4. What we will do

When we receive a properly formed notice, we will normally take the following steps:

  • review the notice to make sure it contains all required elements;
  • evaluate the material in question and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to it;
  • notify the user, contributor, or editor who posted the material that we have done so;
  • forward the notice (or a redacted version) to that user for their information.

In clear cases of repeat infringement, we may terminate the access of the user concerned.

We may, in our discretion and where the law permits, restore material if we receive a valid counter-notice and the original complainant does not file suit within the time required by law.

5. Counter-notice

If you are a user, writer, or contributor whose material has been removed or disabled as a result of a copyright notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to [email protected] containing all of the following:

  1. Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which it appeared before it was removed.
  2. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the competent court in the country in which you live (or, if you live outside the United States, of the Istanbul Courts and Execution Offices of the Republic of Türkiye) and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

Please use the subject line: COPYRIGHT — DMCA Counter-Notice — [URL or article title].

If a valid counter-notice is received, we may forward it to the original complainant and, in accordance with applicable law, restore the material unless we are notified that legal proceedings have been started.

6. Other rights and complaints

If you wish to report content that you believe violates rights other than copyright — for example trade mark, image rights, personality rights, or moral rights — please email [email protected] with the subject line LEGAL — … and include as much detail as possible:

  • the right you say has been violated;
  • the specific URL of the content;
  • your relationship to the right (rights holder, authorised agent, etc.);
  • the outcome you are looking for.

For privacy complaints, please use the subject line PRIVACY — … and refer to our Privacy Policy.

7. Repeat infringers

We maintain a policy of terminating the access of contributors and commenters who, in appropriate circumstances, are determined to be repeat infringers.
