It also describes the rights you have over your personal data and the choices available to you.

By using the Site, you confirm that you have read this Privacy Policy and agree to the practices it describes. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Postal address: Gamerative, İstasyon Mah. 1. Selvi Sk. No: 5, İç Kapı No: 6, Küçükçekmece / İstanbul 34303, Türkiye

We aim to respond to every verified request within thirty (30) days. Time-sensitive requests should be marked “URGENT” in the subject line.

2. Scope of this Policy

This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Site. It does not apply to information collected by:

  • any third-party application, service, or website you reach through links on the Site;
  • offline activities unrelated to the Site;
  • platforms such as game publishers, console manufacturers, or social networks whose content we may link to or embed.

Third parties operate under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their data practices and encourage you to review them.

3. Information we collect

We collect three broad categories of information.

3.1 Information you give us directly

This includes any data you submit voluntarily, for example when you:

  • send us an email or use a contact form;
  • leave a comment on an article;
  • subscribe to a newsletter or RSS feed;
  • participate in a survey, poll, contest, or giveaway;
  • apply for a writer, contributor, or partnership role.

The data we may receive includes your name, email address, display name, country of residence, the message or content you submit, and any other information you choose to provide.

3.2 Information we collect automatically

When you browse the Site, our servers and our service providers automatically log certain information, including:

  • internet protocol (IP) address and approximate location derived from it;
  • browser type, version, and language;
  • operating system and device type (desktop, mobile, console browser);
  • referring URL and pages visited on the Site;
  • date, time, and duration of your visit;
  • click and scroll behaviour, search terms entered on the Site;
  • anonymous user identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies.

3.3 Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from third parties, for example:

  • analytics providers (such as Google Analytics) that report aggregated traffic data;
  • advertising networks (such as Google AdSense) that share performance and audience signals;
  • social networks if you interact with our content on those platforms;
  • comment-moderation or spam-prevention services (such as Akismet or Gravatar) when you post a comment.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The Site uses cookies, web beacons, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate, secure, analyse, and monetise the Site.

A full list of the cookies in use, their purposes, and how to control them is set out in our separate Cookie Policy.

In summary, we use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies to make the Site work (session, security, load balancing).
  • Preference cookies to remember settings such as language or dark mode.
  • Analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the Site, in particular Google Analytics.
  • Advertising cookies to display and measure advertising, in particular Google AdSense, its certified partners, and other ad-tech vendors.

Where required by applicable law (including the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, and the ePrivacy Directive), we will request your prior consent through a cookie consent banner before placing non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time through the “Cookie Settings” link in the Site footer.

5. Advertising disclosures (Google AdSense and other vendors)

Gamerative is supported by online advertising. We participate in advertising programs operated by Google and other ad networks. The following disclosures are made in accordance with Google’s publisher policies:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or to other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads.
  • You may also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance at https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance at https://www.youronlinechoices.eu.

If you are located in a region where personalised ads require prior consent (for example the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland), we will show non-personalised ads by default and only enable personalised advertising after you grant consent through our cookie banner, which uses Google’s certified Consent Management Platform.

Our advertising partners may include, without limitation: Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager, Google Certified External Vendors, and other contextual or programmatic networks we may engage from time to time. Each partner operates under its own privacy policy.

6. How we use your information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

  • to operate, maintain, and secure the Site;
  • to deliver the content you request and improve the user experience;
  • to respond to your messages and process your submissions;
  • to send newsletters and editorial updates if you have subscribed;
  • to display and measure advertising (personalised where lawful);
  • to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, spam, or security incidents;
  • to comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests;
  • to enforce our Terms of Service and protect our rights and the rights of users.

7. Legal bases for processing

Under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), we process personal data on one or more of the following legal grounds set out in Articles 5 and 6: your explicit consent; the necessity of processing to perform a contract with you; our compliance with a legal obligation; the establishment, exercise, or protection of a legal claim; or our legitimate interests, provided your fundamental rights and freedoms are not prejudiced.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar rules, we rely on the equivalent bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR:

  • Consent, for non-essential cookies, personalised advertising, and direct marketing.
  • Contract, where we need to process data to provide a service you have requested.
  • Legal obligation, where we are required by law to process certain data.
  • Legitimate interests, such as keeping the Site secure, measuring audience size with non-identifying analytics, and operating the website commercially. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.

8. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data in the ordinary sense of the word. We share information only in the limited ways described below.

  • Service providers who host the Site, deliver email, analyse traffic, moderate comments, or provide security, under written instructions and contractual confidentiality obligations.
  • Advertising partners, including Google AdSense and its certified vendors, for the purpose of displaying and measuring advertising. Where the law treats this sharing as a “sale” or “share” (for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act), you have a right to opt out (see section 10).
  • Legal and regulatory recipients, where disclosure is required by law, court order, or a binding request from a competent authority in Türkiye or another jurisdiction.
  • Corporate transactions, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case your information may be transferred subject to confidentiality protections.
  • With your consent, in any other case we describe to you at the point of collection.

9. International data transfers

Gamerative is operated from Türkiye. The service providers we engage may host or process data in other countries, including the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Where we transfer personal data outside Türkiye, we rely on the safeguards permitted by Article 9 of the KVKK, including your explicit consent, transfer to a country recognised by the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (“Kurul”) as providing adequate protection, or a written undertaking approved by the Kurul. For transfers from the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards permitted by the GDPR / UK GDPR, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Your rights

Under the KVKK and other applicable laws, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • learn whether we process data about you and request information on the processing;
  • request a copy of, or access to, the data we hold about you;
  • request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request erasure or destruction of data we no longer need to keep;
  • restrict or object to certain types of processing, including direct marketing and profiling;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal;
  • exercise data portability where the processing is based on consent or contract and is carried out by automated means;
  • object to a decision produced solely by automated processing that produces a result against you;
  • claim compensation for damage arising from unlawful processing;
  • lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority, such as the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu — KVKK), your local data protection authority in the EU/UK, or the California Attorney General’s Office.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within the time limits set by the law that applies to you — under the KVKK, normally within thirty (30) days of receipt of a complete request.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To opt out, follow the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the Site footer or send your request to [email protected]. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

11. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy or as required by law. Indicative retention periods:

  • comment data: as long as the comment is published, plus a reasonable archival period;
  • newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression period to honour your opt-out;
  • contact form messages: up to 24 months after the matter is resolved;
  • analytics data: aggregated or de-identified for up to 26 months;
  • log and security data: typically up to 12 months unless an incident requires longer storage.

12. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised access, and disclosure, in line with Article 12 of the KVKK. These measures include encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, hardened hosting, and regular review of our service providers. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions that set a higher threshold). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

14. Third-party links and embeds

Articles on Gamerative may link to or embed content from third parties, including game publishers, video platforms (such as YouTube), and social networks. When you interact with embedded content, that third party may collect information about you. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third party and recommend you review their policies before engaging.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for a reasonable period. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of the revised Policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.

16. Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please write to:

  • “User Content” means any comment, message, submission, or other material you upload, post, or otherwise transmit through the Site.

2. Eligibility

By using the Site you represent that you are at least thirteen (13) years old, or the minimum digital consent age in your country, whichever is higher. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Acceptance and amendment

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Gamerative. We may update them from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, we will use reasonable means to bring the changes to your attention (for example, a notice on the homepage). Continued use of the Site after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.

4. The service we provide

Gamerative is an editorial platform offering reviews, guides, news, opinion, and best-of lists covering video games and gaming hardware. The Site is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.

We do not sell games, hardware, or accounts. We do not offer financial, legal, or professional advice. Reviews, scores, predictions, and recommendations reflect the views of the author at the time of publication and may become outdated.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, with or without notice, and shall not be liable to you or any third party for any such change.

5. Account-free use; comments and submissions

You can read most of the Site without an account. Where the Site allows comments, you may be asked to provide a name and email address. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of any information you submit and for keeping any credentials confidential.

When you post a comment, send a tip, or otherwise transmit User Content, you confirm that:

  • the content is your own original work, or you have permission from the rights holder;
  • the content does not infringe any law or any third party’s rights;

By submitting User Content to the Site, you grant Gamerative a worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable, transferable, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display that content in any media now known or later developed, in connection with the operation and promotion of the Site. This licence survives the deletion of your comment or account where reasonably necessary to maintain backups, comply with legal obligations, or defend legal claims.

7. Intellectual property

All Content on the Site, including text, layout, design, graphics, logos, trade marks, and software, is owned by Gamerative or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws of the Republic of Türkiye (including Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works) and other jurisdictions.

You may:

  • access and view Content for your personal, non-commercial use;
  • share short excerpts and links to articles in line with fair use, fair dealing, and customary editorial practice, provided you credit Gamerative and link back to the original article.

You may not:

  • copy, republish, redistribute, sell, license, or commercially exploit the Content without our prior written consent;
  • scrape, crawl, or harvest the Site by automated means at a rate or scope that places a disproportionate load on our infrastructure;
  • use the Content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any artificial intelligence or machine learning model without our prior written consent;
  • remove, obscure, or modify any copyright, trade mark, or other proprietary notice.

Game titles, character names, screenshots, box art, and other third-party trade marks shown on the Site remain the property of their respective owners. Their use on the Site is editorial and does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.

8. Editorial independence and advertising

Gamerative publishes reviews, opinions, and recommendations independently. Our editorial decisions are not for sale. We may display advertising on the Site, including through Google AdSense and other ad networks, and we may participate in affiliate programs that pay us a commission when readers click links and purchase products. See our separate Disclaimer page for full details.

We label sponsored content, paid placements, and affiliate links in line with applicable advertising regulations, including the Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the Regulation on Commercial Advertising and Unfair Commercial Practices.

9. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law in the Republic of Türkiye or your jurisdiction;
  • impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
  • post content that incites hatred, violence, terrorism, or discrimination based on religion, race, ethnicity, gender, or any other protected characteristic;

10. Third-party links and services

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • the Site and the Content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, or quiet enjoyment;
  • we do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components;

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Gamerative, its owners, employees, contributors, or service providers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Site or the Content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Gamerative and its owners, employees, contributors, and service providers from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • your use of the Site;
  • your User Content;
  • your breach of these Terms; or
  • your violation of any law or any third party’s rights.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Site shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Istanbul Courts and Execution Offices (İstanbul Mahkemeleri ve İcra Daireleri), save where mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence apply.

16. Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, civil or military authority, fire, flood, earthquake, accident, pandemic, strike, internet or telecommunications outage, hosting provider failure, or denial-of-service attack.

17. Severability and waiver

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, it shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. 18. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, the Disclaimer, and any other notices published on the Site, constitute the entire agreement between you and Gamerative with respect to the Site and supersede any prior or contemporaneous understanding.

Cookie Policy

Last updated: 17 May 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones Gamerative (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses on https://gamerative.com (the “Site”), why we use them, and how you can manage your choices. It supplements our Privacy Policy and should be read together with it.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site. Similar technologies — including web beacons, pixels, local storage, and software development kits — function in comparable ways and are covered by this Policy.

Cookies can be:

  • First-party cookies, set by Gamerative directly.
  • Third-party cookies, set by a domain other than the one you are visiting, typically by partners we use for analytics, advertising, or content delivery.
  • Session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a defined period or until you delete them.

2. Categories of cookies we use

2.1 Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the Site to function. They enable basic features such as page navigation, security, load balancing, and remembering your cookie preferences. Without them, the Site cannot operate properly. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent and cannot be switched off through our consent banner.

Examples: session identifiers, security tokens, the consent record that stores your cookie choices.

2.2 Preference cookies

These cookies remember choices you make to give you a more personalised experience, such as your preferred language, your selection of dark or light mode, and whether you have dismissed a notice.

2.3 Analytics cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site so we can improve content, navigation, and performance. They collect information in an aggregated form, such as page views, time on page, scroll depth, and the routes visitors take.

We use, among others, Google Analytics provided by Google LLC. Google may set cookies such as _ga, _gid, and _gat. You can read Google’s policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

2.4 Advertising and measurement cookies

These cookies are set by advertising partners to display advertising that is relevant to you, to limit the number of times you see an ad, to measure the effectiveness of an ad, and to detect and prevent click fraud.

Gamerative is supported by online advertising. Our primary advertising partner is Google AdSense, with Google as the publishing platform. Google and other certified advertising vendors may set cookies such as IDE, NID, __gads, __gpi, and similar identifiers, on this Site and on other sites you visit.

In summary:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at https://www.google.com/settings/ads.
  • You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies via the Digital Advertising Alliance at https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance at https://www.youronlinechoices.eu.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other regions where the law requires it, advertising cookies are set only after you have given your prior consent through our cookie banner. We use Google’s certified Consent Management Platform to capture and store that consent.

2.5 Social media and embedded content cookies

Articles on the Site may contain embedded content from third-party platforms such as YouTube, Twitter (X), Reddit, or Twitch. These platforms may set their own cookies when you interact with the embed (for example by pressing play on a video). We do not control these cookies. You can find their policies on each platform’s website.

3. The cookie table

For transparency, the table below summarises the main cookies typically used on the Site. The exact set of cookies may vary depending on the features you use and the regional version of the Site you visit. A live, up-to-date list is available in the Cookie Settings panel accessible from the Site footer.

4.2 Through your browser

Most browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies. The exact steps vary by browser. Useful links:

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting or send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. There is no universal standard for DNT, so we do not currently respond to DNT signals. We do respect GPC signals where required by applicable law as an opt-out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under US state privacy laws.

5. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

Disclaimer

Last updated: 17 May 2026

The information and content published on https://gamerative.com (the “Site”) by Gamerative (“we”, “us”, “our”) is provided for general informational and entertainment purposes only. This Disclaimer applies to every page, article, image, video, and other element of the Site and supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted this Disclaimer in full.

1. No professional advice

Gamerative publishes reviews, opinions, guides, walkthroughs, predictions, and best-of lists. None of this content constitutes professional, financial, legal, investment, medical, or psychological advice. You should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of anything you read on the Site without seeking advice appropriate to your situation from a qualified professional.

2. Accuracy and currency of information

We work to publish accurate and up-to-date content. Even so, the gaming industry changes rapidly. Patches, updates, store listings, prices, regional availability, and platform features can change without notice and may differ from what is described in our articles.

Information on the Site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, currency, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

  • the Site or its content will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components;
  • reviews, scores, predictions, or recommendations will match your own experience or expectations;
  • gameplay tips, builds, strategies, or speedrun routes will produce any specific outcome;
  • system requirements, settings, performance figures, or benchmark numbers cited from third parties are accurate at the time you read them.

If you find an error, we welcome corrections at [email protected].

3. Reviews are opinions

Reviews, opinion pieces, editorials, and best-of lists reflect the personal views of the author at the time of writing. They do not represent the views of any publisher, developer, platform holder, or sponsor. Different readers may reach different conclusions about the same game or product. Where multiple writers contribute to a piece, the views expressed are those of the named author(s), not of every contributor.

4. Affiliate links and commercial relationships

Some links on the Site are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial judgement. We choose products on their merits and disclose paid placements where required.

Examples of affiliate programs we may participate in from time to time include retailer programs run by gaming and electronics stores, hardware manufacturers, and digital marketplaces. The specific programs we are part of may change over time.

5. Sponsored content and paid placements

Where an article, video, or social post is paid for, sponsored, or has been provided to us by a publisher or third party (for example, a review unit, a hardware loan, or a press trip), we label it clearly. We use markers such as “Sponsored”, “Paid partnership”, “Press trip”, or “Review unit provided by [name]” in line with applicable advertising rules, including the Turkish Regulation on Commercial Advertising and Unfair Commercial Practices.

Accepting a review unit or invitation never guarantees a positive review.

6. Advertising

Gamerative is supported by online advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense and other ad networks. Advertisements are not selected by our editorial team and do not constitute an endorsement of the advertised product or service. Clicking on an advertisement takes you to a third-party site governed by its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content of advertisements or for any transaction you enter into with an advertiser.

We may earn revenue from impressions and clicks on these advertisements. This revenue does not influence editorial coverage.

No endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation with any publisher, developer, or platform holder is implied unless we expressly state otherwise.
