Halo Studios Teases Major Announcement at Halo World Championship 2025

Halo Studios confirms it will reveal major news about the future of the Halo franchise at the Halo World Championship 2025 in Seattle. Learn what’s coming next for Master Chief and Unreal Engine 5-powered Halo games.

Halo fans, mark your calendars; big things are coming this October. Halo Studios, formerly known as 343 Industries, has officially confirmed that it will unveil new details about its ongoing projects at the Halo World Championship (HaloWC) 2025, taking place in Seattle from October 24–26. The studio broke the news in a recent blog post, teasing the continuation of what it began last year when it rebranded and debuted its shift to Unreal Engine 5.

The announcement builds on 2024’s event, where Halo Studios premiered A New Dawn, a behind-the-scenes look at its transition to Unreal Engine and the reveal of Project Foundry. That reveal marked a new chapter for the franchise, promising multiple high-quality Halo experiences made possible by the new development tools and a recalibrated internal approach.

In this latest blog, the studio directly addressed ongoing speculation and rumors about what’s next for the iconic sci-fi shooter series. It emphasized that the “official scoop” on Halo’s future will only be revealed at HaloWC 2025. “Speculation is always fun, but if you want the official scoop on what Halo Studios has been working on, you won’t want to miss this year’s Halo World Championship,” the post reads. The team added, “We really hope you’ll join us in Seattle this October.”

While exact details remain under wraps, fans are eagerly awaiting information on Project Foundry and possibly a new mainline Halo game. Rumors have suggested everything from a Halo: Combat Evolved remake to the debut of Halo 7, though none of these have been confirmed. Internal playtesting reports and developer hiring updates hint at multiple projects being in advanced development stages, supported by newly built facilities designed to test and refine gameplay experiences.

The studio has spent much of the past year in relative silence, though recent reports indicated that regular internal playtests are underway. These sessions not only provide critical development feedback but also help onboard new developers, as the team ramps up production under its new creative direction.

Studio head Pierre Hintze and COO Elizabeth van Wyck have both previously discussed the importance of switching to Unreal Engine 5, noting that it allows for more agile development and quicker content delivery. They acknowledged that past methods didn’t support the studio’s long-term goals and that this transition would help bring Halo to new heights.

Adding to the hype, 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the Halo franchise. Xbox head Phil Spencer recently teased the return of a classic during the Xbox Games Showcase, a statement many interpreted as referring to Halo. With the anniversary fast approaching, many believe this October’s event could be the launchpad for one of the biggest announcements in Halo history.

Whether it’s Halo 7, a remake, or something entirely unexpected, all eyes will be on Seattle this fall.
