Muay Thai powerhouse Fahkumram returns to Tekken 8 this summer as part of the 2.03 update, along with a Pac-Man collaboration, new content drops, and long-awaited gameplay balance adjustments in Season 2.
During EVO Japan 2025, Bandai Namco unveiled a thrilling new update for Tekken 8, revealing the return of fan-favorite Muay Thai fighter Fahkumram. The towering martial artist, first introduced in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, will join the game’s expanding roster this summer as part of the highly anticipated Version 2.03 update. While gameplay footage was absent, a cinematic teaser showed Fahkumram’s dramatic reintroduction, bursting out of a sealed metal container in a nod to his original reveal at the Tekken World Tour 2019.
Known for his brutal elbow and knee strikes, Fahkumram brings a tragic backstory to the ring. In Tekken 7, he was a professional fighter forced to compete for a corrupt military regime after they abducted his wife and daughter. His intimidating physique, covered in tattoos, and his explosive combat style made him a standout character, and now, he’s set to make an even greater impact in Tekken 8.
Fahkumram is the second of three returning characters scheduled for Season 2, following Anna Williams’ controversial comeback in February. One more legacy fighter is set to return in Autumn, with an entirely new character and stage expected to round out the season in Winter 2025.
But Fahkumram isn’t coming alone. The 2.03 update will also introduce a colorful Pac-Man collaboration, featuring a new “Pac-Pixels” battle stage, Pac-Man hit effects, and a slew of themed cosmetic items. Players can look forward to Pac-Man-inspired apparel, accessories like the Pac-Man Ball and Plushie Ghost Pack, and fun additions such as the Pac-Man Head and “Play Pac-Man” emote.
Season 2 has been densely packed with updates. Version 2.01, arriving May 13, introduces the Tekken Ghost Showdown mode in the Fight Lounge, along with two new content packs: the Cyber Phantom Pack and the Vigilante Pack. Then, on June 3, Version 2.02 will roll out a Karate Kid: Legends collaboration, featuring a range of character costumes, including special designs for Kuma, Panda, and Dragunov.
In addition to content drops, Bandai Namco is doubling down on balance patches. Season 2 launched with significant gameplay adjustments that sparked backlash from competitive players. In response, the developers issued an apology and committed to ongoing improvements, promising further balance updates throughout each version of Season 2.
With over 3 million units sold since its launch and critical acclaim under its belt, Tekken 8 continues to evolve. Fahkumram’s return, the vibrant Pac-Man content, and gameplay refinements show that Bandai Namco is actively listening to its fanbase while delivering fresh experiences for both casual and competitive players alike. Fans can expect a high-impact summer when Fahkumram makes his long-awaited debut in Tekken 8‘s explosive 2.03 update.
